For some unknown reason I had this idea that to cook couscous it took an extremely long amount of time. I don't know where this ill-informed knowledge came from, but I was glad to find out that it is horribly incorrect. So has rapidly become the staple of my diet. I like rice, noodles, potatoes, and yams; and do cook with them regularly, but I get bored of them all pretty quickly. This fortunately doesn't seem to be happening with couscous and it has been a little while since it has become a regular member of the meal family. I am know embarking on a voyage to discover new and wonderous recipes for the preparation of said staple.
Work, well really school (grad school seems to fit easily into both categories), is pretty hectic right now. Although the end is near, soon my classes will be over and the interesting stuff that I WANT to do will commence. Then it won't seem so much like school or work.
The planning is slowly converging towards a single date whereby I am getting married. For a long long time it seemed so very far away and both myself and (the soon to be) Mrs. Chiefhoser went about preparing for the event at a lazy pace. All of a sudden the nearness of it has jumped up and thrown us for a whirl. It is probably a good thing we had started planning a long time ago so even though the pace at which things were organized, a lot of the necessary tasks are complete. Just a lot of stress.
I am also moving soon (Monday or Tuesday next week), and while I don't have much stuff it is enough to be a gigantic hassle (although to be fair, when is moving not a hassle). So in the next two weeks I have to move, buy furniture, finish up my course work, and prepare for exams. I can't wait until it's over.
I have been listening to some really stellar music lately that I would like to share. The first is Smog, an amazing band with a good number of albums and one either just out or almost out (I am too lazy to check). Another band that has been played a lot recently on my stereo is Do Make Say Think, an instrumental band out of Toronto. They belong to the same record label (Constellation records) as the incredible Godspeed You! Black Emperor. A few others (and I am just going to list them as I am too lazy to look for websites) are:
Dismemberment Plan
Frog Eyes
Explosions in the Sky
Oneida
And that is about it for know.
